How quickly does the vehicle stall?
This depends of the exhaust system of the target vehicle. It could be anywhere between one foot and a several hundred feet. The stopping distance has a lot to do with existing leaks in an exhaust system and proper installation.
How many times can you use the XHAUSTR?
We recommend that you send them back for refurbishment after several uses. However, extensive testing has shown that, under the right circumstances, they can exceed twenty uses as long as the device doesn’t become ripped.
Can you install the XHAUSTR while the vehicle is running?
No, the XHAUSTR is only intended to be used on parked vehicles that are not running.
Does the XHAUSTR fit into every size exhaust pipe?
They fit the vast majority of exhaust systems. The three different sizes that come in a kit allow for use in a wide variety of sizes.
I see a lot of tailpipes that are oval or rectangular, does the XHAUSTR work with those types of exhaust systems?
The vast majority of oval and rectangular pipes are just tips and have a cylindrical pipe attached. The XHAUSTR will only work if the tailpipe is cylindrical.
Does the XHAUSTR work on every type of vehicle?
As long as the vehicle has a combustion engine and a tail pipe, it should work. Thatincludes cars, trucks, motorcycles, mopeds, etc.
What do you do if a vehicle has dual exhaust?
One XHAUSTR device needs to be placed in each exhaust pipe.
Is the XHAUSTR being used successfully by law enforcement agencies?
Yes, the XHAUSTR is being used throughout the U.S. Agencies such as the Los Angeles Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, California DOJ, and many other agencies are using the XHAUSTR successfully. References are available upon request.
Can you buy the sizes separately?
Yes.
Do I need to shrink the outer sleeve after every use?
It depends. If extensive expansion has taken place during installation (and the sleeve seems loose), then yes. If not, you may be able to skip it.
